I applied to SWGTC but now they say the class is full. What happened?

There are several reasons why students do not get their preferred classes: most relate to timing. Students who apply early usually get their classes. Students who are timely in requesting transient paperwork, usually get their classes. Those who communicate with their school regularly and are informed, usually get their classes.

I have not heard from my online instructor. What should I do?

Students have several options. By clicking on "Online Courses" and looking at the appropriate quarter, students can obtain the email address for their online instructors. Emailing is the best alternative for online students. Another option is to email the GVTC Coordinator, Christina Keown, at ckeown@southwestgatech.edu. The GVTC Coordinator can connect students with instructors.

How do I log into my online course?

The web address for Blackboard is http://gvtc7.blackboard.com. Student Usernames and Passwords of formatted as follows:

• Username: 46_student id number (example: 46_910089735)
• Password: 46_student id number

(Please change your password once you have logged successfully into the system. To do this, go into Tools, Personal Information, and Change Password.)

How do I log into my SWGTC email account?

The web address for online student email is http://studentmail.southwestgatech.edu. Student Usernames and Passwords of formatted as follows:

• Username: First initial, middle initial, last name and first 4 digits of date of birth
  (Example: Jane M. Doe, July 01, 1970 = jmdoe0701) If this does not work, try without middle initial.
• Password: 6-digit date of birth
  (Example: July 01, 1970 = 070170)

I do not see my question here. What are my options?

Students can direct questions to the appropriate SWGTC department by clicking on "Contact Us" and by phoning the department. Another option is to email the GVTC Coordinator, Christina Keown, at ckeown@southwestgatech.edu. The GVTC Coordinator can connect students with the appropriate online personnel.
