Two SWGTC Students capture

Top Honors in District

   

 

Two Southwest Georgia Technical College (SWGTC) Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) members recently captured top honors in three categories at the District Future Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lambda (FBLA-PBL) competition held In Columbus, Georgia as part of a National FBLA-PBL week.

Representing SWGTC at the competition were Nicole Antoine and Ryan Jorge. Antoine earned top honors in Business Communications and Future Business Executive categories. Ryan won first place in the Cyber Security category.

Winners at the District level will have an opportunity to compete at the state level in Atlanta, GA on April 9- 11, 2010. The National competition will be held in Tennessee later this year.

“I am extremely proud of these students and the work they have done to reach their goals,” said Debra Rogers, Dean of Academic Affairs and advisor for PBL at SWGTC. “They are excellent students and wonderful representatives of the quality of students we have here at SWGTC.”

Future Business Leaders of America- Phi Beta Lambda, Inc. is a nonprofit vocational student organization that prepares students for careers in business education.

 Its 250,000- plus members and advisors in 12,000 chartered chapters include students from the United States, the Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, and Europe. Its mission is to bring business and education together in a positive working relationship through innovative leadership and career development programs.
