Foundation Scholarships
How to Apply
- Review the scholarships available and choose one (or all) that apply to you.
- Complete the SWGTC Foundation scholarship application. Applications can be picked up from the Office of Financial Aid or downloaded from our website. Please turn in a different application for each scholarship for which you wish to be considered.
- Attach all supporting documentation found in each scholarship’s policies and procedures (such as essays, letter of recommendations, transcript, etc.) with the application and turn it into the Office of Financial Aid by the posted deadline. Incomplete applications will not be reviewed.

Currently Available Merit-Based Scholarships
The SWGTC Foundation is currently accepting applications for the following scholarships. The deadline to apply is June 6, 2008. These scholarships will be awarded for the 2008 summer quarter.

Merit Based Scholarships
Merit Based scholarships are evaluated based on grades, letters of recommendation and essays. Merit based scholarships are awarded based on availability. Applications for these scholarships are accepted the quarter before they are awarded. You may apply only for those scholarships listed above that are currently accepting applications.

Student Enabling Scholarship (Emergency Assistance)
The Student Enabling scholarship is a need based scholarship designed to help students with unexpected expenses that may prevent them from continuing their education. This scholarship is open to all students throughout the year.
The amount of the scholarship is based upon the needs of the individual student.
To apply for the Student Enabling Scholarship, complete an application form, include all supporting documentation listed in the policies and procedures, and turn it into the Office of Financial Aid. In cases of extreme emergency, this scholarship can be awarded within one – two working days.

Note: The Student Enabling Scholarship can only be awarded to a student once.
High School Scholarships
The SWGTC Foundation offers high school seniors the opportunity to apply for a scholarship before graduation. A scholarship is awarded to one student from each high school in Thomas, Grady and Mitchell Counties. Applications for the High School scholarship can be picked up at your high school counselor’s office or SWGTC. Scholarship recipients are awarded a $500 scholarship upon enrolling at SWGTC. Awards are announced before high school graduation.
