- Must be in program of unrepresented gender
- 2.0 Minimum GPA
Jeffrey T. Harris Memorial Scholarship for Paramedic Technology ($500)
- Must be formally accepted to SWGTC prior to scholarship award
- Must enroll at SWGTC within six (6) months of award
- Must be a high school graduate or equivalent
- Must present program-ready test scores
Mitchell County Students Scholarship ($500)
- Must be a resident of Mitchell County
- Must have completed a minimum of 33% of program of study
- 2.5 Minimum GPA
Growing Nurses ($1,000)
- Must be formally accepted to SWGTC
- Must enroll within (6) months of award
- Student must be program ready for the ADN program.
Grady County Students Scholarship ($500)
- Must be a resident of Grady County
- Must have completed a minimum of 33% of program of study
- 2.5 Minimum GPA
John Deere Tech Scholarship ($500)
- Open to all SWGTC students
- Students must have completed 12 credit hours at SWGTC.
- 2.0 Minimum GPA
Kathryn Read Nursing Scholarship ($500)
- Must be a rising senior in the ADN program

The following scholarship is offered by the Thomasville Kiwanis Club and is being advertised by the SWGTC Foundation as a courtesy to students. Applications are available in the Office of Institutional Advancement, from the College Counselor in Student Affairs, or from a member of the Thomasville Kiwanis Club. These applications are reviewed by the Kiwanis Club and decisions are made by the Kiwanis Club. Applicants and Scholarship Recepients are notified by the Thomasville Kiwanis Club.
Kiwanis Club of Thomaville Scholarship ($750)
- Must not be receipient of any financial or scholarship aid
- Minimum 2.0 GPA required

Merit Based scholarships are evaluated based on grades, letters of recommendation and essays. Merit based scholarships are awarded based on availability. Applications for these scholarships are accepted the quarter before they are awarded. You may apply only for those scholarships listed above that are currently accepting applications.

The Student Enabling Program is a need-based program designed to help students with unexpected expenses that may prevent them from continuing their education. This program is open to all students who have completed at least 50% of their program of study. Students may only receive assistance once.
To apply for the Student Enabling Program, complete an application form, information sheet, and include all supporting documentation listed in the policies and procedures. Completed applications should be returned to the Office of Financial Aid.

The SWGTC Foundation offers high school seniors the opportunity to apply for a scholarship before graduation. A scholarship is awarded to one student from each high school in Thomas, Grady and Mitchell Counties. Applications for the High School scholarship can be picked up at your high school counselor’s office or SWGTC. Scholarship recipients are awarded a $500 scholarship upon enrolling at SWGTC. Awards are announced before high school graduation.

The following scholarship opportunities are offered by the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) Foundation for the 2010 academic year. Each of the following three awards are for use beginning with the 2010 fall quarter/semester. Both the Georgia S. Neath Scholarship and the Shirley Carver Miller Scholarship are for use at a TCSG College, such as Southwest Georgia Technical College. The AT&T-TCSG Foundation Scholarship is for use at a University System of Georgia four-year institution.
George S. Neath 1st Choice Technical Group Scholarship: Opportunity for a $500.00 scholarship that will be awarded to technical college students who are working towards a diploma or degree in one of the following fields of study:
Industrial Systems / Applied Manufacturing
Electronics / Industrial Electrical Technology
Electronics Engineering Technology / Electromechanical Engineering Technology (and related areas of instruction)
The awardees must have maintained a GPA of 2.50 through the first year of their program at a technical college in the Technical College System of Georgia. They must also be enrolled as a fulltime student (12 credit hours or more). Special consideration will be given to veterans/military men and women. Two scholarships will be awarded. Information for this scholarship may be obtained here. Note: The deadline has been extended to August 1, 2010.
Shirley Carver Miller Scholarship: Opportunity for a $500.00 scholarship intended to reward GED graduates by providing a financial incentive to work towards continuing their education at one of Georgia’s technical colleges in any field of study of their choosing. Applicants must be: (1) nominated by a Certified Literate Community Program, (2) a legal resident of the state of Georgia and (3) accepted for enrollment or currently enrolled at a TCSG technical college. AT&T-TCSG Foundation Scholarship: Opportunity for a $5,000.00 scholarship that will be awarded to technical college Associate Degree graduates who have achieved a TCSG Associate Degree in one of Georgia’s strategic industries as follows:
Aerospace
Agribusiness
Energy and Environment
Healthcare & Eldercare
Life Sciences
Logistical and Transportation
The awardees must have: (1) a graduating GPA of 3.50, (2) been accepted admission to one of the University System of Georgia universities or colleges and (3) demonstrated commitment to their technical college and/or community through their extracurricular/community activities. AT&T Pioneers Georgia Scholarship: The 2010 program provides scholarships to students in the Georgia Area. Ten scholarships will be awarded. Scholarships are awarded based on applicant involvement in community service, school and leadership activities and academic achievement. The scholarship is a one-time award in the amount of $2000. The funds are payable to an accredited post-secondary institution, skill/training center or trade school. The funds are provided to assist students with tuition, required registration or other fees.
