RN License Renewal

Southwest Georgia Technical College’s Nurse Refresher & Re-Entry Program will satisfy the  Georgia Board of Nursing’s requirement of 40 theoretical hours and 160 clinical hours of relevant study  This program includes:

1. A study of the current Georgia Registered Nurse Practice Act and current Georgia Board of Nursing Rules & Regulations.
2. Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
3. A variety of at least four (4) different relevant study areas, e.g., nursing knowledge specific to the required supervised nursing practice; current concepts of nursing practice; legal/ethical aspects of nursing and healthcare; communication management and skills.

Students should first go to the website for the Georgia Board of Nursing (www.sos.state.ga.us/plb/rn/) and download the appropriate application for RN licensure.  Concurrently, an application may be submitted to SWGTC.  Approval for acceptance into the Nurse Refresher & Re-Entry Program will be contingent upon each applicant’s receipt of a temporary reentry permit issued by the Georgia Board of Nursing.

Full payment of registration fee in the amount of $1000 must be paid upon program acceptance.
