Foundation Special Events

Thomas County Golf Tournament

The Annual SWGTC Foundation Golf Tournament is held each May at beautiful Glen Arven Country Club.  This historic golf course is the oldest in Georgia, and was listed by the USGA as one of the first 100 clubs established in the U.S. In addition, "GOLF Magazine" recognized it in their 1995 list of "The First 100 Clubs in America." You’ll even see pictures in the clubhouse of President Eisenhower playing during one of his trips to Thomasville.  What better way is there to enjoy a day of golf than on a beautiful course? The tournament is a four person Scramble with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start.  Golfers also enjoy prizes for the top four teams, a hole-in-one on a par-3 hole, the closest to the Pin on a par-3 hole, the longest drive on a par-5 hole. The SWGTC Foundation would like to thank our 2012 tournament sponsors, players, and friends for their support. Our 2013 tournament will be held on Monday, May 6th. Grady County Golf Tournament

The Grady County Golf Tournament is held every October at the Cairo Country Club.  The tournament is a four person, Scramble with a shotgun start.  Golfers also enjoy prizes for the top four teams as well as numerous hole prizes. This fundraiser provides funding for improvements in the Grady County location and the Grady County Scholarship program. The SWGTC Foundation would like to thank our 2012 sponsors and friends for their support.

Internal Campaign

For the 13th year in a row, the SWGTC Foundation has enjoyed 100% gifting participation from the college’s faculty and staff, proving that our employees support the mission of our College and Foundation with their financial contributions!  The Internal Campaign kicks off each year in the fall.

1% Club

Members of the 1% Club are faculty and staff who donate 1% of their salary to the Foundation.  This club currently has more than thirty-five members!
