Foundation Special Events
Thomas County Golf Tournament
The Annual SWGTC Foundation Golf Tournament is held each May at beautiful Glen Arven Country Club. This historic golf course is the oldest in Georgia, and was listed by the USGA as one of the first 100 clubs established in the U.S. In addition, "GOLF Magazine" recognized it in their 1995 list of "The First 100 Clubs in America." You’ll even see pictures in the clubhouse of President Eisenhower playing during one of his trips to Thomasville. What better way is there to enjoy a day of golf than on a beautiful course? The tournament is a four person, Ft. Lauderdale/Scramble with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start. Golfers also enjoy prizes for the top four teams, the closest to the Pin on all par-3 holes, the longest drive on a par-5 hole. The SWGTC Foundation would like to thank our 2011 tournament sponsors, players, and friends for their support. Our 2012 tournament will be held on Monday, May 14th.
