COSM 1090 Cosmetology Practicum II

Pre/Co-requisite(s): COSM 1050, COSM 1070, COSM 1080

Provides laboratory experiences necessary for the development of skill levels required to be a competent cosmetologist. The allocation of time to the various phases of cosmetology is prescribed by the Georgia State Board of Cosmetology.  This course includes a portion of the hours required for licensure. Topics include: permanent waving and relaxers; hair color, foiling, lightening, skin, scalp, and hair treatments; haircutting; clipper design, precision cutting, styling; dispensary;
manicure/pedicure/advanced nail techniques; reception; safety precautions/decontamination; Hazardous Duty Standards Act compliance; product knowledge, customer service skills, client retention, State Board Rules and Regulations guidelines, and State Board foundation prep.
