Advanced CAD Technician
Program Description: The Advanced CAD Technician certificate program provides students with specific skills necessary to produce architectural drawings and designs. Students utilize Computer Aided Drafting hardware and software to design and create working drawings for residential and commercial structures. Students also receive instruction in estimating mechanical systems for architecture to further enhance their knowledge of building and construction practices in the architectural field.
Student Learning Outcome:
• Students will develop a complete set of construction plans, to scale, for a 2-story residential home.

Entrance Dates: This course is self-paced. Students are able to be admitted at the beginning of any semester. Under certain circumstances, students may be admitted during a semester.
Entrance Requirements: Refer to Admissions criteria. Applicants must be graduates of the Drafting Technology, A.A.S. or Diploma program, or possess equivalent training and experience (as deemed appropriate by the advisor). Click for Entrance Score Requirements.
Age: Applicant must be 16 years of age or older.
Education: An applicant must be a high school graduate or the equivalent (GED). College transcripts will be evaluated on an individual basis.
Advisor: A program advisor should be consulted prior to enrolling in any course. An advisor will be assigned by admissions.
Program Final Exit Point: Advanced CAD Technician, Technical Certificate of Credit.
